INSPIRATION
The Vortex Indicator is a technical indicator which identifies the start of a new trend or the continuation of an existing trend within financial markets.
It was inspired by the work of an Austrian inventor, Viktor Schauberger, who studied the flow of water in rivers and turbines. The Vortex Indicator was also partly inspired by J. Welles Wilder's concept of directional movement.
PUBLICATION
In 2010, we published the Vortex Indicator, sharing our invention freely for the benefit of the financial industry. However, for our own investment strategy, we use proprietary versions of the Vortex Indicator and apply it in unique ways.
